- Prepare formula as per instructions on pack.
- Tip the flakes, seeds and formula into a small saucepan and heat gently, stirring, until it comes to the boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally until all the formula has been absorbed into the porridge and the flakes are tender.
Chef's tip: Can be served with a dollop of fruit purée such as apple or pear, or soft fruits such as raspberries or strawberries. For older children add a little fresh chopped apple, a tablespoon of sultanas or a couple of finely chopped ready to eat dried apricots or dates at step 1.
When reheating the porridge you may need to add a little extra formula to loosen it.
