The PKU Association of Ireland (PKUAI) is a network of families and individuals who live with PKU. They are dedicated to providing support, information and social contact for both families and patients of all ages. The National Centre for Inherited Metabolic Disorders (NCIMD) is a referral centre for any child diagnosed with, or suspected of having, a metabolic genetic disorder. The centre investigates suspected cases of metabolic disorders referred from hospitals, community health centres and clinics throughout the country. It provides specialised treatments for these patients with metabolic disorders. They have recently launched a website that provides information and support for families with metabolic disorders.
